Matt is 23 years old, and graduated from Bishop Dwenger High School, Fort Wayne, Indiana in 2003.  Matt earned the rank of Eagle Scout with the St. Vincent’s Troop 2 Boy Scouts of America in 2002.  Matt has received many other awards and honors during his military career.  He comes from a family with a rich military background.  Matt is married; his wife’s name is Auralea . Matt, who is an Aerospace Ground Equipment Mechanic, has served one tour in Kuwait, and two tours in Iraq.  During these tours Matt has received many commendations His oldest brother Joseph serves in the military as well as his father Stevenl, who is currently deployed overseas with the Indiana Air National Guard 122nd Fighter Wing.  Matt’s grandfather, Carl , is retired from the Indiana Air National Guard as well. The Indiana Chapter is proud to be able to have such an outstanding individual as our Hero.
