Families United for Our Troops and Their Mission is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. We provide assistance to military families as they deal with the loss, injury, or absence of a loved one. Families United works with Gold Star families, Blue Star families, and America’s veterans to support our troops and make sure the families that stand behind them are well cared for. As a memorial from a grateful nation, Families United has also established the National Gold Star Family Registry, the first-ever comprehensive registry of fallen Heroes and their families.

Program Description:
Families United will launch the first National Gold Star Family Registry in Summer 2010. This public, online platform will be the first comprehensive database of fallen Heroes and their families ever developed. Whether they gave their life in Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Korea, WWII, or another conflict, the Registry will be a place to ensure their memory will live on.

Job Description:

• Serve as an active team member of the traveling footprint for this new national registry of America’s fallen Heroes and their families.
  Speak to the public and local/regional press regarding the Registry.
• Handle the day-to-day operations of the Registry launch including driving to locations,
  footprint setup, and family interviews.
• Direct event volunteers.
• One to three months of continuous travel.
• Reports to the Advance Team Lead and the National Gold Star Registry Program
  Manager.

Qualifications:

• Gold Star family member or US combat veteran.
• Exceptional verbal and interpersonal communications skills. On the record press
  experience preferred, but not necessary.
• Excellent attention to detail and skill in coordinating logistics and personnel, and ability
  to multi-task including during significant travel.
• Candidate must be both creative and resourceful.
• Able to sustain continuous and rigorous travel schedule.
  

Compensation:

• Salary paid at a daily rate. Commensurate with experience up to $70K annual.
• All lodging and travel expenses will be covered - to include a per diem.
